Master Baker Grotegives a Receipt to Master Furrier BrixLüchow – Acknowledgement of Receipt by master baker Wilhelm Christian Grote of September 17, 1838, to have correctly received "from my brother-in-law Mr. (master furrier) Heinrich Brix – both Lüchow – a dowry and marriage portion from the house for my wife (Catherine) born Brix on behalf of the mother" of 62 Reichsthaler, 12 good ten-pfennig pieces cassa coin + 50 Reichsthaler. Follows for mayor, council and court the certification of September 26, 1838, that "aforesaid read aloud acknowledgement of receipt as overall correct" and signed by own hand is valid. Manuscript on paper. Sm. fol. 1¼ pp. on double leaf. Together with town seal signed Thorwirth. On "2 good ten-pfennig pieces" stamped sheet of beige laid paper with large Lower Saxon Horse and separate character mark O S G as watermarks. – With coat-of-arms blind stamp Kingdom of Hanover. – Traces of fold and except for two only in the white back sheet acid-freely backed tiny tears. – Optically very fine.
