Thieme-Becker XIII, 365: “(Gélibert) paints almost exclusively animal and hunting pictures… ”. – Pupil of his father, the animal painter Paul G., whose field he favoured together with his brother Gaston and continued including hunting. Showed at the Paris Salon since 1859, then in Brussels + Berlin, too.
