Arrivet decorated with fruit + grain with his invenit and engraver’s monogram and miles indicator. Regional map by Rigobert Bonne (Raucourt, Ard., 1727 – 1795). Engraving colored in outline. A Paris Chez Lattré rue St. Jacques a la ville de Bordeaux 1771. 44.1 x 35.8 cm. “ The Roman aqueduct and the wine : ciphers for the eternal in the life of man in the southern French Languedooc ” (Rob Kieffer in the FAZ of August 10, 2006). – Eastern frontier the Rhone with estuary + Camargue, marked here the shore-line expanded visibly into the Gulf between 1704 + 1758. Western bound on the line of Toulouse, the former capital of Languedoc, and in the south it’s going on into Spain.
