Enhuber, Karl von (Hof, Bavaria, 1811 – Munich 1867). (The Village Painter.) Sitting in his roof study with fur cap and a book on his knees. Behind the bench his wife holding a plaster figure – the theme of the book – and a palette. That of the artist on an old overturned vat though. Steel engraving by Albert Henry Payne (London 1812 – Leipsic 1902). C. 1845. 8¼ × 6⅛ in (21 × 15.7 cm).
