Pu-Quà. A Soldier. / Un Soldat. In his undress – for he “never wears his full uniform but when he is upon particular duty” – during shooting practice. Colored stipple by J. Dadley (active before 1797 – after 1803). Inscribed: (Pu-)Quà, Cantòn, Delin. / Dadley. London. Sculpt. 30.6 x 25 cm.
According to Lipperheide Le 21 after-engraving about 1810 after Dadley’s print of 1799 (Lipperheide Le 17). – With explanation sheet in German-French parallel text. – Two sides mostly trimmed under loss of the platemark – left with loss of the “Pu-” of the inscription – , but not impairing for much white platemargin.
