From Lipperheide Ad 46. – LEAVES FOR COSTUME KNOWLEDGE N.S. 95-96. – Burger was pupil of Carl Steffeck and “specialized in the depiction of the life of the Sorbs foremost in the Spreewald” (Allgemeines Künstler-Lexikon XV, 1997, p. 200).
