Meil and Chodowiecki principal representative of the Berlin engraving in the 18th century”). – Excellent impression with margin of about 0.5 cm. – Schmidt, son of a clothier, was “one of the most famous artists of the 18th century” (Nagler). So, too, Boerner in the preface to sale CIX, collections Rudolf von Seydlitz + Heinrich Främbs, of 1912:
“ The sale of the marvelousnbsp; and rare sheet of this master … ”.
And especially to the sheet here – no. 1357 – : “Very rare”.
