“ (Potter) thanks his fame to the natural presentation of the animals and the Dutch pasture … In the 18th and 19th centuries Potter’s basic development of the picture of the animal in the landscape has been continued. ”

The two cows standing together on the left in their position almost identical to those of the painting in Cassel, The Pissing Cow, comp. with Tischbein’s etching available here.
