Daumier, Honoré (Marseille 1808 – Valmondois 1879). Un Paysage en 1870. Goya’s canon in the wall’s gap did complete work. Lithograph. (1870.) Monogrammed, otherwise as above. 23.8 x 17.9 cm. Delteil 3828, III (of 4) with illustration of an earlier state. – Careful impression on better paper without the text on the back and the “Actualité” series title, but with the original distance of the title of 10 mm which is reduced to 8 mm in the 4th state. Worked in the great style of the last years, omitting all material and “accusing the wrong of the war in symbolic figures only” (Glaser).
