Ridinger, Johann Elias (Ulm 1698 – Augsburg 1767). (The Bear in the Lair sucking on his Paws.) Etching + engraving. (1738.) Inscribed in the plate: J. E. R. fec. / N. 41., otherwise in German as before. 7¼ × 5¾ in (18.3 × 14.7 cm).

Thienemann + Schwarz 431. – Plate 41 (in later edition 72) of the instructive set Design of Several Animals ( “These plates are much wanted and frequently copied”, Th. 1856). – Splendid, wide-margined impression of the 1st edition. – The title partly a little weak.
