Wood engraving after a watercolor by Ludwig Passini (Vienna 1832 – Venice 1903). Inscribed: Ludwig Passini Rom 1858, otherwise in German as before. 17.5 x 12.9 cm. – Cf. Boetticher 15 with, erroneously (?) 1868 in which year the work figurated on the Berlin Academic Art Exposition. Come to Rome in 1855 together with Carl Werner from Leipsic, Passini’s watercolors concentrated on the Italian, namely Venetian genre form “a long line of works awaited always eagerly” (Boett.). – Continuous Rome text on both sides.
