Lemgo – Mannfeld, Bernhard (Dresden 1848 – Frankfort/Main 1925). City Hall in Lemgo. In front carriage with three horses and figurines. Etching printed in brown. Ca. 1875. Inscribed: Orig.-Rad. v. B. Mannfeld. / Druck v. O. Felsing. Berlin., otherwise in German as before. 25.6 x 21.6 cm.

Felsing and Alexander Duncker resp., both Berlin. – From a set of 1889. – The wide margin of the light cardboard here and there foxing barely noticeable only. Constructive view across of the new townhall (1605/18) integrating the said old substance erected under dominant participation of the stone-cutter and architect Georg Großmann active in Lemgo and Hannoversch Münden and one of his sons, too. “G.s work is distinguished by formation of clear ground plans and independent composition, the form language shows the influence of the (Bremen stone-cutter master) Lüder von Bentheim (after 1550-1612/13)” (Thieme-Becker).
