Lübeck, In the Shipper's House

Discovering previously overlooked places + details and making them available for prints was the order of the young and even still cheap artists sent out (quite in the sense of Lee A. Iacocca’s Chrysler motto: We wanted open minds not poisoned by Detroit) and formed the success of the wood engraving. See on this i. a. Hanebutt-Benz, Studien zum dt. Holzstich im 19. Jhdt., Frankfort/Main 1984, + Linton, Master of Woodengraving, NH 1989.
