Old Town Gate in Solothurn

BACK: Old Town Gate in Solothurn. The rather low gate with the two salient stocky round towers as well as parts of town wall on both sides. Wood engraving after the view worked by Arthur Calamé (1843 Geneva 1919) after a design by his father Alexandre (Vevey 1810 – Mentone 1864) as above. Inscribed in the stock: Ar Calame d’ap. Alex. Calame, otherwise typographically as above. 5¼ × 4⅝ in (13.5 × 11.8 cm).
