Distinguished Man, Dress of a. About 1670-1680. Self-assuredly with sword, standing to the right, the right resting on a draped furniture, onto which also the plumed hat is put. Colored wood engraving at Kopp & Zeising after Otto Brausewetter (Saalfeld/East Prussia 1835 – Berlin 1904). (1876.) Inscribed: O Br / X A v Kopp u Zeising, otherwise in German as above & below. 7⅞ × 5⅛ in (20 × 13 cm).

Lipperheide Ad 46. – SHEETS FOR COSTUME KNOWLEDGE NEW SERIES 27. – Brausewetter was pupil of the Academy in Königsberg and, after stations in Frankfort/Main & Munich, active there again and in Danzig 1860-1869, before he settled in Berlin where he was professor at the Academy since 1882. His particular attention focussed on historical themes.
