In front on the steps a couple, the lady with fan. Toned wood engraving by Adolf Closs (1840 Stuttgart 1894). (1876.) Inscribed in the stock: A. Closs (with a swing with unidentified continuation) / Dill Napoli (18)75, otherwise typographically in German as above. 7¾ × 9¾ in (19.7 × 24.8 cm).

From a series worked in Closs’ xylographic institute, here as one of the rarer sheets engraved by Closs – “then one of the best of his profession in Germany”, Thieme-Becker – himself.
